Overlord on the recent EU supertester sacking:

Well, it was a tough decision. Many suffered because of few. Personally I have always been for EU/NA supertest, but things have gone out of hand recently. On RU side things are much smoother.

  - there are vehicles (guns) that have the strange property that when you aim them at the enemy, the aim circle doesn't immediately start shrinking. This means that the gun is so inaccurate the aim circle was actually bigger than the screen
- Storm regarding the IS-7 speed buff: "dynamics will remain the same"
- there will be some vehicle based on the 38t suspension introduced into the game
- it's possible we'll get a Waffentrager German TD branch
- Leopard 1 will have a historical crew composition
- there will be no dynamic tank names apparently
- SerB on interenet tough guys who wanted to play tough, threatening him on internet: "They are very tough on the internet, but meek during personal meeting"
- Char B1 is doing fine statistically
- SerB regarding new premium vehicles: "There will be such premiums as we consider necessery. Wait for announcements"
- regarding the British turret TD branch: "Wait for announcements"
- "Official WG efficiency rating?" "Yes - that's the winrate, because the point of the game is to win."
- the 3-man platoons and companies confirmed to be available without premium account in 8.5
- another arty hardcap (3 arty per battle) is not planned, "wait for the tier 10 arty"
- there will be an SMS confirmation for phones linked to accounts about password change
- there is a MM mechanism, that balances the times when you play (tier-wise) as the top team player and as the bottom one
- AMX-13/105 is not implemented because it has too advanced rangefinder and electronics
- tank "aging" will not be implemented (SS: as in - a tank with 50 battles gets faded paint, with 500 gets rusty etc.) - "too much work for questionable profit"
- free XP won't be convertible to credits
- arty is not going to lose the green line in satellite mode
- Russian D-25T won't get heat shells
- Jumbo Sherman won't get the 90mm M3 gun
- IS-3 and Panzer V/IV - fixed in 8.5 are minor
- 8.5 test? "when it's done it's done"
- future tank branches will not be announced in advance, because people would whine when the patches don't come on time. Writing that the schedule is just an estimate would not help, people would still whine.
- US light tank branch re-work? "wait for announcements"
- the RU251 light tank is not yet configured properly for supertest
- Ratte will not appear in the game even as a decoration
- what is the role of AMX40? "thick-armored light tank"

1.4.2013
Just to be clear, I consider "official" trolling on 1st April totally retarded - what's the point of trolling someone when everyone knows you're gonna get trolled that day? This post is thus free of any troll attempts... well, at least attempts from me Nah, just kidding, I skipped all the troll answers. TBH, I don't somehow think it's even funny.

- at this moment it is not decided whether the client physics will be optional as a whole, or you'll be able to tweak them by switching off parts of it (such as: suspension - yes, physics object destruction - no, etc.), still too early to tell, experiments are ongoing
- unlimited ignore list won't come and it won't be made client-side, because there would be a problem if you switched computers
- chat won't be separated from combat commands ("don't screw up - you won't get chatbanned")
- low tier arty balance is working normally according to SerB
- when the arty branches are expanded to tier 10, the top arty MM spread will generally change to match the one of the tier 10, but it's too early to tell how exactly will the arty MM look and how much will the top arties get their stats changed
- more tier 8 premium meds won't come anytime soon and in the long run - unknown for now. Soviet premium T7 med is still planned, but no details.
- it's not yet known what will happen to premium arty when the arty branch is expanded to T10 (connected with MM spread changes), but devs might find a solution without buffing/nerfing the premium arty
- skill MM not planned ("dear moderators, can you permaban people asking this?")
- SerB states that unspecified members of an unspecified royal family are playing World of Tanks (SS: earlier it was mentioned that it's a prince of Jordan or something)
- an ammo rack can actually be destroyed by setting a tank on fire (the shell that sets the tank on fire also damages the ammorack, which then drops to 0 by the flame damage), but it's very rare
- it is not planned to make a forum ban extend into the game and vice versa, but a unified account ban for all WG projects is considered
- the observer mode in training rooms is not planned to be made accessible to public, as far as SerB knows
- various servers in RU cluster have different power - the best servers are RU1 and RU2, the newest is the weakest
- smoke (generated by tanks) will be implemented at some point, SerB wanted it from the start, but visibility recalculation connected to dynamic elements has not been implemented yet, it's being worked on. It will be a server-side thing (SS: in order for hackers not to abuse it), server will simply consider smoke an "obstacle" and will not send data to the vehicles behind it
- top vehicles for the T-34M/A-43 branch? "no comment for now"
- the clanwars interface will most likely not be implemented into the game itself, according to SerB, the functions themselves are more important
- new chat system will be first tested on WoWp, might contain a fuction to purge the whole ignorelist at once
- weather effects have nothing to do with Havok
- T10 arty changes will most likely not be published before proper patchnotes
- during the arty T10 patch, there will be no "free" vehicles with 100 percent crews, or free garage slots
- USB authenticator to make accounts more secure will most likely not be developed
- the "distance travelled" in debriefing is not planned to be rewarded when reaching a certain number (SS: there was a suggestion it would reduce camping)
- it's "not excluded" that the British arty "speciality" will be high penetration of HE shells
- if I understand it correctly, British arty branch will have both high-alpha and low-alpha vehicles, there will also be very mobile and slow vehicles
- VK2801 owners will get no compensation for the XP requirement reduction

Half of the answers are still trolling, mostly related to the dog in the garage (apparently, it's a demon dog, feeding on souls of destroyed tanks and you have to destroy enough tanks to make it go away). Had to skip all kinds of garbage.

- a failure of a player to prevent your base capture is not considered a reportable offense
- reporting profanity/spamming does not automatically lead to an instant chat ban, it's re-checked by moderators
- the Korean "8.4.1" patch with such features as an afterburner is simply a Korean April's fool
- there won't be crew visual models implemented into the game
- IS-7 won't get HEAT shells because there were none historically
- Q: "Why does the dog in the garage howl?" A: "It's historical" (followed by a link to the Soviet adaptation of the Hound of Baskerville)
- the idea to make various hulls as modules was scrapped
- 0.8.5 test might start on Thursday (just a hint)
- battle fixing (for example two companies of "friendlies" that get to fight each other so one player gets 15 kills) is a banneable offense
- the T-28 Soviet tank  is the serial model, not the prototype, despite having the historical prototype's weight

Re: Rozwój WoT

Americans have a 8.5 tank preview on their server (didn't notice the same thing on EU server, hence the US link)

- according to SerB, there is no corellation between shooting distance and damage done (a player was complaining that when shooting over 300m, shells do less than average damage more often)
- regarding the rule where a player is not allowed by the MM to play as a top team tank for too long: in one-tier battles (battles where all the tanks are f.x. tier 1 or 2), this rule does not apply (SS: conclusion - it works with a tier position, not balancing weight)
- Q: "what will happen to VK3002DB tier-wise in 0.8.5?" A: "For now you can only guess"
- Indienpanzer has the Bundeswehr cross, because it's a post-war vehicle
- there won't be any copyrighted decals on vehicles
- the ability to spot a tank does not depend on how much of the tank you can see (eg. a fully uncovered tank has the same chance to be spotted as a tank completely covered by an obstacle with only one visibility checkpoint sticking out)
- there are plans to introduce Soviet lowtier tank destroyers, such as GAZ-75 or SU-45
- there are no plans to introduce additional gun to SU-101
- SerB wrote that some maps are removed when they are unfit for gameplay. A player then asked if that is so, why do they stay in company battles? Answer: "Clarification - they are unfit for gameplay in random battles."
- Tank "121" is not WZ-121 or Type 69
- Indienpanzer confirmed to have a 90mm gun
- Q: "Indienpanzer's gun has the same parameters as Pershing's T15E2M2, why was it written in the review that it's ´heavily armed´?" A: "It's a really heavy gun "

Re: Rozwój WoT

IS-7 - history and development

Author: Viktor Kitov (EU forum)
Published and slightly redacted by: Silentstalker

Today, we have a guest article here by Vikto Kitov about the IS-7. Enjoy!

In the spring of 1944 after  lifting the siege of Leningrad at the Kirov plant which was partially destroyed, it was decided to manufacture the ISU-152 self-propelled artillery. Tank designers were returning to the Experimental Plant № 100, after the evacuation. The leader of the team was chosen to be J. Kotin. Under his leadership, the development of a new heavy tank which was to be well armed and heavily heavy armored. Itreceived the factory designation "Object 260", and later - the index "IS-7"

-A wooden model of the IS-7-
http://alternathistory.org.ua/files/070809_IS-7_maket.jpg

The high level of protection of IS-7 was provided not only by an increase in the thickness of armor plates, but also due to their significant slope. The form of the front was similar to the IS-3 - "pike nose," with somewhat smoothed contours. The mass of IS-7 reached 68 tons, to ensure adequate mobility it was needed to increase the capacity of the engine. It was planned to install two diesel V-11 or B-16 with a total capacity of 1200 hp, using an electric drivetrain similar to the tried and tested on the prototype tank IS-6 ("Object 253"). However, before making the first prototype of the IS-7 the design was canceled and only a full sized wooden mock-up was build. In 1946 work on the second version started. In the same year it was decided to build two prototypes. The lead designer of the machine was engineer G. Efimov, and overall management was done by A. Ermolaev. A second version of the IS-7 would be created, rather diffrent from its predecessor.

-Engine-

Since work on the B-16 engine failed. The TD-30 diesel engine was installed, developed  on the ACh-300 aircraft engine. Instead of an electric transmission a traditional mechanical one was used. A serial V 12-cylinder diesel engine M-50 1050 hp at 1850 RPM was installed (used on fast offshore boats). The TH-30 aircraft engine established on the basis of ACH-300, revealed a number of significant drawbacks during the tests. The M-50 engine was distinguished by its rather large dimensions, requiring new design solutions for its installation in the tank without increasing the height of the housing. They had to develop a new short torsion suspension (so-called "beams"), consisting of seven thin rods, and such that was enough space for the engine crankcase. The case height of 2426 mm was even lower than the 300 mm on the IS-2, and 24 mm lower then the IS-3.

-Engine specifications-

Engine Type: M-50T

Manufacturer: Plant № 800
Brand: M-50T
Type: Diesel
Volume: 62,400 cm3
Maximum power: 772 kW (1050 hp) at 1850 rev / min
Maximum torque: 4606 Nm
Configuration: V12 Cylinders: 12
Bore: 180 mm Stroke: 209.8mm
Degree of compression: 13.5
Cooling: Liquid
Stroke(number of cycles): 4
Recommended fuel: DL, DZ, DA

Speed  60 kp/h; Cross-country speed 32 kp/h
Range- 300 km
HP per tone- 15.4
Suspension- Individual torsion
Ground pressure kgf / cm ² 0,97
Fire fighting equipment with automatic thermo sensors which activate at 100-110 ° C

-Transmission-

The transmission for the tank was designed in two versions. The first, which was manufactured and tested in the IS-7, was a six-speed manual shift with synchronizers. Turning mechanism - a planetary, a two-step. Steering was done via a hydraulic servo.Tests showed good traction transmission quality, ensuring high average speed of the tank. The second version of the manual transmission had been developed in conjunction with the Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School. It was a planetary, 8-speed. Steering was done by hydraulic actuators with progressive gears. For the first time in the soviet tank design tracks were made with rubber-metallic hinges, hydraulic double acting shock absorbers, road wheels with internal shock absorbers operating at high loads and torsion beams.

-Electric Drive planned for the IS-6-

http://sa100.ru/armor/Heavy_Tanks/USSR_HT/electro_G.jpg

The first copy of the prototype was ready on September 8, the second - December 25, 1946. On field tests they showed remarkable speed for such machines- 60 km/h maximum speed and an average speed on rough road was 32 km/h. None of the heavy tanks of that time could boast with such high-speed characteristics.

Throughout 1947 in parallel with the long trials of the first two IS-7s work started on the creation of the next - better - option.

Increased armour and slope for the hull and turret after firing 88-mm, 122 mm and 128-mm shells at the prototypes on the NIIBT site at the Izhora factory. The thickness of the frontal plate was increased to 150 mm, placing them under  vertical angles of 50 ° - 52 °. The turret was given a less vulnerable form - it became more rounded, the thickness of the front was adjusted to 240 - 350 mm at an angle of 45 ° - 0 °, the side plates - to 185 - 240 mm at angles of 30 ° - 45 °. Even the most powerfull guns existing at that time (128-mm and 130-mm armor-piercing projectiles) failed to penetrate the armour.

-Crew-
The crew of the IS-7 consisted of five men and four of them were placed in the turret:

Commander - Right
Gunner - Left
Two Loaders - In the back, they also operated the machine guns.
The Driver was the only one to be located in the hull.

-Armament-

The first prototype was armed with a 130-mm S-26 gun. It used separate-case ammunition, the mass of the projectile was 33 kg. To increase the rate and ease the work of the crew a pneumatic loading mechanism was installed, developed in conjunction with the Institute of artillery.

The next version of the IS-7, was armed with a new 130-mm naval gun S-70 (7020mm long) a 54 caliber barrel and it's weight was 4225kg. The shell had a mass of 33.4 kg and an initial velocity of 900 m/s with the ability to punch through 163-mm armor, mounted at an angle of 30 °, at a distance of 1000m and 143 mm - 2,000m. Rare of fire was from 6 to 8 shots per minute thanks to the naval style "rammer" (Unconfirmed)

-S-70 Penеtration values-

Shell \ Distance--------------------------------->500---1000---1500----2000---3000 (m)
БР-482 (Angle of impact 30°)----------------->205-----195-----185----175------145 (mm)
БР-482 (Angle of impact 90°)----------------->250-----240-----225----210------180 (mm)

Keep in mind that at different times and in different countries, different methods for determining armor penetration were used. As a consequence, a direct comparison with similar data from other sources is often impossible or incorrect

-Details about the IS-7s guns-

Ammunition for the S-70 consisted of 30 shells. Rather then the bulky pneumatic loading mechanism that was used on the first machine, a smaller chain mechanism with the electric drive was developed. The characteristic difference between guns was the muzzle brake design: The C-70 used small holes, and a C-26 has a slot design.

The tank fire control unit  provided guidance, regardless of the position of the gun and fired automaticly as soon as there was a target lock. The number of machine guns on the IS-7 reached eight: Two - large caliber, and the rest - 7.62 mm RP-46. A second CPV-44 was aded on the roof of the turret for firing at air and ground targets. Aditionally two 7.62 mm machine guns and a 14.5mm were mounted in the gun mantlet. All of them had a remote control. Ammunition for the machine guns consisted of: 400 rounds of ammunition for the CPV and 2500 for the ER.

-The End-

During 1948 LKZ produced four prototypes of the new IS-7.

Following the factory tests they were handed over to the state. Chairman of the State Commission was appointed Major-General A. Owl. The main test of the Ministry of Transport Engineering of the USSR E. Kulchitsky well remembered these trials: "I was honored, I was asked first to give this remarkable machine"...With speeds exceeding 60 km/h, this heavy machine is easy to respond to the slightest force applied to the levers and pedals. The machine is totally submissive to the driver."
[/left]
During a test run one of the tanks caught on fire after exeeding the period for the trials. The automatic fire extinguishing system activated twice, but the fire could not be contained. The crew had to leave the tank, and it was completely destroyed. The plastic fuel tanks, which the designers installed instead of the normal metal ones to save weight, turned out to be the source for an additional fire hazard.

Despite the outstanding performance, the IS-7 failed to receive the approval of the State Commission.

In addition to a number of failures during the test, a negative opinion of the commission affected, first and foremost, it is was too heavy. The attempt to provide the highest level of protection brought the machine to a record 68 tons - instead of the planned 65.5 tons.

The "Object 260" was not accepted for service. However, in the course of the project designers  accumulated experience, and in the later types of Soviet tanks you can see many of the tried and tested to IS-7 components.

-Why?-

A definite negative role in the fate of the IS-7 played another heavy tank -the 60-ton IS-4, developed and put into production at the CHKZ in 1947, after the cessation of production of IS-3. The IS-4, at the time of its creation, had the most best armor, but the  transmission wasnt reliable. It was armed with the same guns as the IS-2 and IS-3. The biggest drawback of the IS-4 was the fact that its mass was greater than the capacity of railway platforms, and highway bridges simply couldnt withstand its weight. As a result the IS-4 effectively discredited the idea of a tank weighing 60 tons, which caused the skepticism of military experts regarding the IS-7.

Another explanation for the rejection of the IS-7 is that at that time the concept of increasing the role of tanks in a probable nuclear war, called for an early deployment of a large number of armored units, and thus to produce the greatest possible number of tanks in peacetime.

Re: Rozwój WoT

4.4.2013
- SerB is now (or was recently) in Chicago
- WG doesn't have any info for now on one-turret 76mm Soviet Object 050 heavy tank, based on T-100 and about the IS project with cca 100mm armor and 152mm gun from 1940
- SerB states that the current German and Soviet branches are cca 70 percent complete
- the reason for various 100mm guns with different alpha are different shells used
- it's possible EU tree will have local modifications of foreign tanks (such as the local modifications of T-34, T-54, Shermans...)
- there was no Soviet self-propelled 11in (279mm) howitzer
- game mode without bases (just a deatchmatch) is not planned
- there will be no "compensation" for removed transitions from Henschel tanks to VK3002DB
- there might be a Maus buff upcoming, just a rumor tho (and not in 0.8.5)
- Tetrarch will not appear in any game stores
- each shell has individually set module damage secret parameter, that roughly equates to the caliber of the shell, but the caliber directly is not involved in the damage calculation
- Storm states that in recent years the quality of gameplay of newbies didn't get worse, it's roughly the same
- there are planned visual changes for the hangars (both premium and regular)
- Storm says there have been no changes in the earning potential of premium tanks...
- one Leopard will be added to the Hunter medal/archievement
- the MM will change so both teams have roughly the same amount of light tanks (so it doesn't happen that one doesn't have any and the other does)
- T92 elevation - 0 to 45 degrees
- the fate of premium artillery vehicles in connection with the T10 arty will be told "when the time is right"
- the "konisch" German gun does so high damage due to the shell's kinetical energy
- devs never considered it viable to change one regular game server into an additional test server, it's complicated

Re: Rozwój WoT

5.4.2013
- there will be no compensation for the reduced XP price of the VK2801 ("when the prices of electronics drop, do you also go whining to the electronics store for a refund?")
- Russian tier 7 medium prem tank was never promised for the 0.8.5, it will come in the future
- in 0.8.5, on the debriefing screen, the tank life percentage stat has been replaced by damage done in battle
- the decision about the gun accuracy (the way it is now) has been made due to the limited scale of battles
- there will be no possibility to trade tanks between players
- immobilized tanks with one track down won't be able to move, just like it is now (SS: a player was moaning about the fact that in real life, a tank with one track destroyed could still "turn")
- SerB stated that if Wargaming did Mechwarrior Online, they would have done a lot of things differently
- HE shell splash radius does not change by +/- 25 percent, the damage however does
- the test client is made separately the way it is because if it was somehow connected to the original client, many people would use the patch on the original game and then would whine because they couldn't play the game properly
- Swamp and Komarin do not return in 0.8.5 (SS: odd, I thought this was confirmed... ah well)
- client physics won't reach this level
- devs cannot unfortunately write the equation for the ramming damage, as it is a complex physics model
- the hull turn rate is a balance parameter, Storm: do not expect battles to be like in real life

Overlord also made an article about (the removal of) Pay to win element from World of Tanks.

A few points from his answers:
- there has to be a balance between premium and regular users, either you invest time, or gold

- tier 10 arty confirmed to come in "near future" (SS: according to RU devs: 0.8.6)
- gold shells pen ceiling and armor buff possible
- no golden ammo caps
- no premium tanks for credits

Re: Rozwój WoT

6.4.2013
- driver's hatch on IS-7 does not count as external module, but as armor
- it was considered to reduce the scale of shell penetration decay with distance
- M551 Sheridan is "not planned for now"
- PT-76 is not planned until bigger maps allow for amphibious tanks
- the aim spread after moving the gun/turret is not influenced by gun length or gun weight or other hidden parameters, but by gunner skill
- no composite armor will be implemented
- it's not yet decided, whether parts of client physics will be switcheable off, or just the physics as whole - experiments are in progress
- XP is awarded for first enemy module destruction (eg. chaindetracking will give you XP for destroyed tracks only once)
- devs are discussing the idea that old replays could be converted to new format
- upcoming Maus buff is confirmed, but it's not know when will it happen and it will not be significant
- WoWs has the tank drawing distance removed (or rather, it's much longer), but tanks won't have it removed, the parameters of both projects are different
- 8.6 will bring the sound engine overhaul (SS: unknown what it means)
- Leopard 1 might be too high, it will be rechecked
- acceleration is a balance parameter, eg. the acceleration of Leopard 1 doesn't have to be historical
- the +/-25 percent random factor came to be thru experience, in the beginning, it was 50, it won't be reduced to 10
- Leopard 1 might get better accuracy on the move
- new sounds (of shell impact) might come until autumn, but no promises
- dynamic garage tank stats are planned for distant future
- the Leopard 1 Bundeswehr cross is an exception, there won't be post-war insignia for (for example) US and Chinese tanks
- the tank icon indicator on the top of the screen won't get (apart from classes as it is now) also tier designations, it would be too much
- a mechanism is planned for all the "collecting" archievements (medals) to display, what do you have left to do, will come around 0.8.8
- in 0.8.5, only the most obvious objects (fences, walls) were fixed in order not to reduce the speed of a tank too much when running them over (thru them), the rest will be fixed in time

Re: Rozwój WoT

7.4.2013
- the reason a T7 Soviet premium med will be implemented is that suitable tier 8 Soviet premium medium tank was not found
- Type 59 MM spread is considered "normal"
- AMX-13 better than T71 in anything? "It's adequate complex-of-characteristics-wise"
- tier 10 arties will make the work easier for the matchmaking mechanism
- regarding the question why T-54-2 won't be implemented as Soviet T8 premium MT: "You want another Type 59? We don't." (SS: not as a Type 59 visual copy, but as another balanced medium that would flood the random battles) and "T-54-2 is not worse in any way than Type 59"
- IS-7 maximum speed buff only presents itself when the tank goes downhill (engine power was unchanged)
- test server hardware is apparently not used between tests
- Deathmatch mode is not even in long-term plans
- the devs didn't find enough materials about Leopard prototyp B to implement it. It still exists as a built prototype tank, but photographing it is forbidden for now, might get implemented if the data are found
- second round of 0.8.5 test is planned
- apparently, one of the devs answered incorrectly before (as the RU players are also confused), so: British arty is NOT planned to come at the same time as other tier 10 arty, it will come afterwards, "British arty was never planned for 0.8.6"
- plans for 0.8.6 will be officially revealed very soon
- when an artillery HE shell lands between two close standing tanks (splash), each tank gets its own HE average shell (+/-25) damage (eg the damage is not halved)

Re: Rozwój WoT

8.4.2013

- second round of 8.5 test will start on 11.4.2013 apparently (changes are not available yet)
- there aren't so many city maps, because they stress the server more than "regular" maps
- Asian maps (Dragon's Ridge, Pearl River) were introduced in order to satisfy the Asian audience
- maps with rain/snowing effects won't come this year
- the problem with night maps is the implementation of dynamic lighting, dynamic lighting is planned for very distant future
- the 10 second drown time is not planned to be increased
- old render will not be optimized (improved) anymore, only the new one will
- the game will undergo a color-rebalance (SS: filters were mentioned earlier)
- currently, the skill of the drivers is not taken into account when balancing vehicles
- installing high-res skins and other addons can theoretically lower the game performance
- WG doesn't have enough data to buff/nerf British TD yet
- tank balancing is not done automatically, but manually and individually
- the fact HE explosions have little effect on the light tank vehicle movement is intentional
- exhaust vapours will not be made thicker (as they were before)
- T-80 MM spread is not yet decided apparently ("wait for the patch")
- developers are working on improving the account security (maybe including the possibility of "restoring" sold crews after the account was hacked) because there have been more cases of account stealing lately
- 3 arty per team hardcap will not come
- for now, no high-octane diesel fuel consumable is planned (for German diesel tanks)
- open-topped vehicles will not get a buff (SS: connected to the question how some open-topped vehicles were dealt with after they had the "improved ventilation" removed)
- no plans for tier 10 LT's
- SU-100Y is doing normally statistics-wise
- no (torque) difference will be implemented between the diesel and gasoline engines
- post-0.7.0, the armor system has not changed: 16 armor groups for turret, 16 for hull
- ST-I armor angles are historical
- devs have so far not thought about introducing Soviet lend-lease vehicles into the historical battles concept
- if you destroy a low HP enemy by ramming, you will get back the same damage as if the enemy had full HP
-  Storm on patch 0.8.6: "Get ready. The patch will be nuclear. A lot of rebalancing. Will tell more in about a month." It will contain tier 10 arty, amongst other things.
- Poole medal was not rewarded retroactively, because it was harder to implement than for example the Lion of Sinai medal.
- tier 10 alternative German TD will be a "German nightmare and horror" and "something special".
- Q: "Will it be a nightmare and horror for its owners?" A: "For whiners - definitely" and "only for German-lovers"
- generally, the state of module unlock has no effect on that vehicle's MM spread
- second full branch of Soviet medium tanks - "distant future"
- Soviet premium T7 med is not yet modelled
- there are many Soviet archives not yet uncovered
- US premium TD will come next year

Re: Rozwój WoT

9.4.2013
- a French premium TD is planned (unknown ETA)
- battles without artillery are not planned
- maps that were removed for re-work (Dragon's Ridge, Serene Coast) are not going to be implemented as optional (SS: the idea was to make them selectable much like the new modes)
- Leopard 1 mantlet is 70mm "historical" (proof given by Storm)
- 0.8.5 test 2 will have the same queues as test 1 (no server boost)
- a "national" mode where for example only German vehicles would play against only Americans is not planned
- grass render will be optimalized for better FPS
- the reason for introducing gold ammo for credits was "fair play principle"
- new premium vehicles are introduced "as needed". The reason why the Germans have so many premium medium tanks and the French have none is that the Franch simply didn't have any viable projects for that.
- the World of Tanks Blitz game will be cross-platform apparently, SerB states there are many problems, but they hope to solve them
- the devs have enough tanks to implement for 5 more years, in that time they expect many game algorithms to change because of the technology development
- regarding hightier Soviet light tanks, SerB states there were only paper projects and they won't implement that for now.
- there will be no random battles mode without gold shells
- Q: "Is it worth it to wait for new music in next patches?" A: "You can always wait for new music"
- Q: "And will there be rock'n'roll too?" A: "Rock'n'roll is - as everyone knows - dead. Unlike us."
- it's worth it to report the AFKers, however there is some sort of automatic AFKer tracking system now
- transfer of premium tanks from one account to another will not be implemented
- Q: "Will there be special camouflage scheme for Clanwars as a reward?" A: "Camo is not enough, watch the news" (SS: I think we can safely assume the T10 prems will be a CW reward)
- automatic anti-illegal-mod system: "no comment"
- Yuri Pasholok will see whether the current T-80 crew setup is historical (SS: one Russian book suggests it is not)
- another alternative Soviet medium branch (which is to start from KV-13) has a tier 8 problem, devs haven't found a suitable vehicle yet, also tier 9 is problematic (SS: if I understand it correctly, a project designated A-22 was meant for tier 9, but it was found out that the A-22 project was in fact a codename for the Object 907 hull development). Apparently, there was no "T-22SR" project, only the A-22
- automatic (gold) fire extinguisher reduces the chance of fire (10 percent chance of fire reduction) not by an absolute number, but by a relative amount taken from the engine, eg. a 20 percent fire chance engine will have it 18 percent with the gold fire extinguisher, not 10.
- the A-43 Soviet medium branch will also be implemented, after A-43 there will be the A-44 tank
- in the new chat system, there will be a different category for clanmates and friends (SS: so you will be able to set it so that you will recieve private messages only from friends and not clanners)
- on top Soviet tanks in planned branches: "Soviets are doing fine, there will be no paper tanks implemented unless absolutely necessery"

Re: Rozwój WoT

10.4.2013
- Q: "In 8.5, the Konisch gun damage for regular and gold shells was made the same, is it realistic?" A: "As soon as you provide us with the real life data on Konisch gun damage (measured in hitpoints), we will make it realistic"
- when smoke (as cover) is introduced, the cover mechanism of various objects (haystacks, walls etc.) won't be changed (they won't be added as camoproviding objects), there are too many of them
- various tanks have various tracks hitbox models, these models do not depend on the type of the suspension (torsion bars, Christie etc.), rather than on its shape
- you do recieve credits for caused module damage
- the archievements for the XP class badges (3rd Class to Master) for arty won't be revised
- trophy (captured) tanks will not be made for now
- some branches have regular vehicle - arty transfers, it is not yet clear what will happen to those transfers when the arty is stretched to tier 10, apparently they won't disappear all
- KV-1S to SU-152 transfer won't be implemented
- the Chinese TD and arty branches are not yet prepared, let alone modelled, no details will be told now
- shell (trajectory, impact) system won't be modified, it would get too complicated
- 0.8.5 test 2 will have a few minor bugs fixed
- Ferdinand won't be separated into the Elefant and Ferdinand tanks, because those two tanks are practically identical
- T-62A was the "ugly duckling" tank, the developers didn't want to implement it, but had to because they didn't find any proper alternative.
- the escort mode was tested but the devs decided it's not working and decided to scrap it
- WG cooperation with (implementation of) Raidcall, Teamspeak or Mumble? "No comment"
- Matilda 1 and Char 2C plans? "If there are any, I will tell"
- IS-3, IS-8 and 110 won't get a frontal armor buff on the spot where lower plate and upper plate meet
- it's not yet clear whether the Chinese TD branch will containt SU-100 and SU-152 copies
- Q (by a player named Mishkas88): "Will there be any changes in German tank properties in 8.5 test 2?" A: "No. And that 88 means you were born in 1988, right?"
- there are many factors as to what premium tanks will be implemented and what not
- apparently, the Chinese TD's are a mess - there is enough material to make two branches of them, but the devs are still thinking how to make it all fit together
- somewhere in the next few patches there will be a sound re-work, but music re-work is unlikely
- new anti-aliasing is scheduled for middle future (not as bad as distant - usually refers to 6 months - 1 year or so)
- there will be a new WG video, possibly explaining the shell penetration trajectory inside tank
- it's possible Korean War will appear in historical battles, Vietnam War most likely won't
- in the future, the sound engine will be updated
- visibility range restriction removal - doesn't have high priority, definitely won't come in 2013-2014
- HE shell splash has the shape of a sphere, not a circle
- the weird 2nd anniversary garage (SS: more like gay-rage) won't be optional
- T-70 will be made a 2-man vehicle before the 0.8.5 goes out

Re: Rozwój WoT

11.4.2013
- the third T-80 crewmember was historically the gunner
- the old tracer system (where you could see tracers even from undiscovered enemies) will not return
- devs have enough ideas for game optimalisation for several years of implementation
- all arties will be completely rebalanced up to the point of implementing new guns
- official WG "noobmeter" is planned for very distant future (SS: if I understood this correctly, it's somewhat unclear, since a part of the original question is missing)
- single-click crew transfer from tank to tank (premium to regular and back for example) is planned
- devs consider KV-1S balanced and alright
- Object 261 (based on IS-7 hull) maximum speed won't be increased
- you can spend only 3 battles in a row at the bottom of your team, the 4th battle the MM forces you to be on the top or in the middle of your team
- in the future, accidentally sold crews will be possible to restore, for now, it's not possible even thru tech support
- the rules for teamkill/teamdamage punishments will be changed (intentionally not said how), devs are working on it right now. Current system does take recidivism (previous bans) in account when selecting proper punishment. The changes in rules (and possibly to whole mechanism) ETA is not yet decided
- the cancelled tech tree transfers (Hummel - Pz III/IV etc.) were not included in the patchnotes because Storm forgot about them
- Storm states that it's useless to angle the Löwe, it has a weak hull for its tier - you gotta take shells with the turret
- it's possible the "average damage per battle" stat will be implemented into the player's official profile
- new "mechanics explanation" movie (SS: I believe in English the series was called Interesting mechanics or something like that?) will come relatively soon
- SerB states that the problem with implementing the T-62A was that some its stats were too good while others sucked, the tank was also considered "too new", but SerB is happy with how it turned out
- the maximum gun elevation angle in game is 45 degress, that's when the arty shell flies the longest distance. For example if the arty stands on the 30 degrees slope, that angle would be 15 degrees
- devs do not watch player-made bug movies on youtube
- for arty vehicles using 2-part shells (shell + charge separately) it was considered to allow them to use reduced charge fill so the shell would fly with more curved trajectories. The idea was however scrapped.
- there was no "1941 pattern T-44", there was only the A-44 project (SS: regarding Soviet medium tanks, players are trying to post suggestions for various alternative Soviet types)
- Object 430 will not be implemented as tier 8 Soviet vehicle (SerB: "Share the marihuana joint") (SS: Object 430 was a late 50's medium tank project, designed to improve/replace the T-54. While it was not a bad vehicle, its performance was not much better than that of T-54 and the project was scrapped. It would make a fine T10 I think).

12.4.2013
As you probably noticed, new ASAP (KTTC in Russian) video is out.  Nothing new or surprising in it, just a recap of the things known from 8.5 patchnotes. But at least it's confirmed the Chinese will get a new tier 8 premium vehicle to replace the Type 59.

Anyway, the translation:

- when regular AP shells penetrate the hull, they travel the distance of several (10?) shell calibers (SS: eg. 100mm shells = 1m distance). The same rule applies for HEAT shells.
- when in contact with spaced armor or external modules, the same rules apply for HEAT shells as for AP shells
- HEAT shells do not have an increased chance to set the tank on fire
- for now, there are no plans to introduce the Soviet T-100 and T-111 heavy tanks, but SerB keeps them in his mind
- SerB states that both map bases (resp. spawn points) don't have to by symmetrical, but the assymetrical aspects compensate for each other
- if I understand it correctly, Soviets will have a new heavy tank (perhaps whole branch) planned, filled with rear-turret tanks
- the 105mm Centurion in game is not the Israeli Sho't Kal
- Chieftain is not planned for now. The devs are collecting info on it and they are looking at its prototype
- SerB states that if hje recalls correctly, the top Jagdtiger gun shells are flying at 930m/s (in game), Doyle and Chamberlain state the historical velocity for the JT gun was 880 m/s

13.4.2013
- the 8.6 Batchat 155 arty confirmed to be T9
- the 8.6 German arty shown in the ASAP video is "GW Elefant", most likely T9,  according to SerB it was "developed for a 210mm gun" (SS: a complete fake then, another made up vehicle)
- WZ-120 frontal upper armor angle is the same as the one of T-54. 112 and 113 have better angle. On 120 and 121 photos it can be seen- 60 degrees
- the new Soviet 8.6 arty is - as suspected previously - a SU-14-2 prototype. It however will not carry a proposed 305mm gun, nor will it be faster and less armored than the regular SU-14
- Japanese superheavy tanks did not have armor with effective slopes, they were made to be protected from nearby shell explosions of (up to) 406mm, the "40-roadwheel superheavy" was an O-I development, made by the Navy as a coastal defense vehicle. This vehicle blueprints exist in a private archive Wargaming is trying to buy for 2 years already - when it is bought, it will be published
- damaged fuel tanks on a WoT tank have no effect on anything, but completely destroyed fuel tanks cause a fire
- captured (German) KV-1 will have a different gun than the current KV-1, the captured T-34 will most likely have much better viewrange than the Soviet one (SS: it had a Panzer IV commander's copula mounted in by the Germans)
- apparently in 8.6 the S-51 will keep its 203mm gun
- there will be changes to premium accounts (for the benefit of the player), but what kind of changes, the devs won't tell for now

Also edited the 8.6 arty article for additional info

Re: Rozwój WoT

14.4.2013
- WoWp had the popular 1024*768 resolution removed, it will however stay in WoT
- game balance (tank winrates) is analysed after every patch
- the fate of GW Panther (whether it will move or not) will be announced later
- no alternative medium tank branches will come in near patches
- trophy (captured) tanks will come in very far future
- Q: "Storm, in the recent ASAP videos you appear every time wearing the same sweater. Does it have anything to do with the gold shells for credits introduction?" A: "Definitely! 'We need more gold'(c) Our sales are not enough to buy a second sweater..."
- Storm states that the issue with Nvidia cards is not yet solved
- Leopard 1's shell ejector mechanism does not influence its camo factor
- T28 Prototype ingame was based on this sketch:

No other pictures or drawings exist, it was made from scratch by Wargaming. (SS: There however exists a wooden model - it was discovered apparently after the T28 Prototype was introduced into the game.)
- there will be no free tanks in 0.8.6 (eg. if you have a tier 8 artillery, it will get moved to tier 10, but you will not get its new T8 replacement also). Its replacement however will be unlocked.
- Storm states there were no Löwe changes and calls a player saying Löwe was ninjanerfed a liar
- SerB and Storm on Löwe ninjanerf player claims: "If there was a poll 500 years ago about the shape of the Earth, the winning answer would be that it's flat" and "Many say there are UFO's, but have no proof, just like you don't."
- the total amount of experience needed to level up a tier 10 arty from tier 1 will be roughly the same as it currently costs to level up a tier 8 arty
- destroyable bushes (as an equivalent to trees that can be brought down) are not planned
- in time, small destructable objects (fences, shacks etc.) will allow AP and APCR shells to pass thru them
- according to Storm, Maus is unpopular because it's slow
- some "people with very high reputation" claim GW Elefant (new German arty) is a Wargaming fake. WG will "tell everything later"
- the minimum thickness for spaced armor plates to be implemented into WoT is 10mm, thinner armor plates won't be modelled
- apparently Storm is aware that the T-44 turret is unhistorical (wrong designation), doesn't consider it important ("what a horror...")
- British second TD branch will not come this year, nor will any other British TD vehicles be introduced
- according to devs, ammorack explosions of 7,92mm - 12,7mm shells are okay
- according to devs,  there is no need to buff IS-7
- TD experience gain might be rebalanced (for them to get more XP from battles), "no comment so far"
- apparently the T-50-2 will not be removed from the game
- King Tiger maximum speed won't be buffed
- SS: now, this is something I don't understand fully, but apparently, there is a new CW mechanism/event in the making with provinces controlled by NPC's (sorry, no idea what this means)
- point limit change for various tier companies is not planned
- Hellcat won't recieve a 105mm howitzer ("We don't consider it necessery") (SS: but the 105mm Hellcat designated T88 is still planned for WoT)
- for now, new perks are not planned, but the whole perk mechanism will be reviewed, new ones might come eventually
- there might be a special "Sorry" quick command implemented
- special (in-battle) help for stuck tanks will not be implemented, as after the physics introduction such cases have become very rare
- devs won't implement a stat reset after 100-300 battles
- generally Storm considers the calling for old maps (pre-rework) to be brought back a nostalgia, people are lazy to learn new things
- there is no coefficient, that would award credits for damage done based on what shell was used
- new Nvidia drivers still have the bug, where the game says "Not enough experience" and crashes, when you open a techtree branch, the devs are trying to solve it

Re: Rozwój WoT

19.4.2013
- there is no special MM mechanism to equalize the number of TD's in both team
- despite the fact the VK2801 and Aufklärungspanzer Panther have similiar turrets (stat-wise they are identical), those aren't shared (not a bug) as turrets are never shared between tanks, it's a game decision
- apparently, the 8.5 patch introduced longer waiting times between battles, it will be investigated
- apparently, if you quit a battle and change server while the tank is still locked, on 2nd server it will be available (and the battle result won't be counted in). After relogging though, the battle result will display properly (it won't disappear)
- the Indienpanzer mantlet is apparently very fragile
- M55's amount of 203mm ammo carried (historically 10 pieces) will most likely be increased in WoT
- the adrenaline rush perk mechanics have not been changed in 8.5

20.4.2013
New invite code (works only for new accounts): WGGEAR (source: wot-news.com)

Will give new player a Panzer 38H ("Micromaus"), 1000 gold and 3 days of premium account.

- developers are aware of the bug where when a tank goes over a bridge (for example in the Port map) or rails (Ensk for example), the tank loses a lot of its dynamics, it will be fixed
- portable version of World of Tanks is not planned for now
- all the maps in the Encounter mode have the same base capture time
- in 8.5, game graphics weren't touched, only the dust/smoke effects have been re-worked for better performance
- the German inscriptions "Gott mit uns" and "Für Kaiser, Gott und Vaterland" won't appear, Soviet "On Berlin" might
- new "escort" mode is not planned for now
- the M6A2E1 "Alien" tank has lower moneymaking ability than other premium tanks of the same tier (SS: unofficially, by 20 percent), because it doesn't "count" as a premium tank
- 8.5 patch has for some reason made waiting times for random battles longer (50 seconds for arty), will be checked
- Maus engine was changed to gasoline, there is a rumor going around that this will cause bigger chance of fire. It is however not true.
- if your tank dies and you don't have enough credits to repair it, you won't be able to remove the crew from it (and move it for example to a premium tank). This is intended.
- Pearl River (new 8.5 map) does not have a bigger chance to be selected than other maps. In the past, new maps used to have a bigger chance to "drop" for players for a while, but this has been cancelled
- the drop chance for the Assault and Encounter mode has not been changed, but as some of the players have been complaining about too many of these modes dropping when enabled, it will be re-checked
- various tier 10 medium tanks have various gun shell velocities
- the subcaliber and regular ammo on the same gun has identical velocities (they have been made equal), so the aim wouldn't have to be changed when you switch ammo in battle
- in 8.5, Ruinberg streets were not fixed... again. They will be fixed eventually, as it "did not fit" the 8.5 patch
- the reason for the current company tiers (resp. for the fact there are no tier 3,5,7,9 companies) is that the devs don't want the company players to be stretched too thing, as it would be harder to put together a company than it is now
- the decision for the Champion company to include LT8 and Arty6 was arbitrary
- it is not yet decided, how will company arty tiers change in 8.6 (vehicles are still being balanced)
- WG doesn't publish additional info (such as modular damage etc.), because most players would only get confused
- it is "completely possible" the armor penetration indicator will take effective armor into account in future
- the reason KV-5 is doing now better than months ago statistically is the introduction of gold ammo for credits, it helped balance its performance
- starting from 8.5, it will not be possible to kill a crew of the open-topped vehicle without damaging the vehicle itself
- the penetration value of each shell is determined upon hitting the target with it, damage value is determined after it is "decided" by the engine that there will be a damage caused
- all WG series games (tanks, planes, ships) will be accessible using one account
- the fact tier 9 tanks don't really fit into companies or clanwars is okay according to devs
- there are no plans for special rewards for unlocking a full branch
- 100 percent crew training for credits won't be introduced
- T-44 gun mantlet is easy to penetrate when aiming at the center of it, as there is a hole behind it. When you aim at the rims of the mantlet, there is the turret armor behind it and it's much more difficult to penetrate
- reload timer will be implemented into the game
- shell prices will be generally rebalanced, penetration will be taken into account when making new ones - not just damage
- Sand River has new Assault mode (the bases and spawnpoints were changed)
- apparently, matchmaker can occasionally drop tier 10 vehicles into tier 8 battles, it will be investigated
- changes in artillery gameplay are not ready, 8.6 will contain "only" arty rebalance
- 0.8.6 will not contain British or Chinese arty

21.4.2013
- the Stalingrad map will appear on World of Tanks (not soon), there might be some famous landmarks (such as the Tractor plant, Pavlov house, the Children dance sculpture)
- it takes several man-months of work to create a medium-sized map
- there is a limit as to how many tank emblems can be implemented into the game, it's related to performance
- A39 Tortoise is doing fine statistically
- British arty branch is not yet completed
- IS-4 track mudguards are not part of the armor model, they never were
- it's not possible to make an arty hardcap only for some battletiers
- apparently, SerB said on recent community meeting in Kharkov that Maus will recieve a hitpoint buff, its gun however won't be buffed. It will happen in one of the following patches.
- it is confirmed that penetration will be taken into account when deciding the shell price, how exactly is not sure yet
- M6A2E1 counts as "promotional tank", eg. not as a premium one
- 2x2km maps are not developed, definitely won't come this year, but eventually in distant future they will appear
- currently, no artillery gameplay changes are planned
- armor penetration indicator shows the ability to penetrate that given armor at 100 meters
- one-color camouflage (essentially tank color change) is not planned for now
- 7/42 format will not be used in CW
- there are plans for alternative endgame mode, apart from CWs and garage battles
- RU251 (tier 8 German LT) will not come in 0.8.6
- devs thought about implementing a gold ammo for credits hardcap (for example only 1/3 of the total ammo capacity could be loaded with them), but decided not to do it for now
- tanks in garage interface ("carousel") will be completely reworked
- devs haven't thought yet about the "cloud storage" system á la BF3
- caps and keyboard language indicator will be implemented for the password screen
- it is not planned to change the French autoloaders so they can be reloaded only when the vehicle is standing still

22.4.2013
- the transmission cover plate on frontal T-70 armor (the rectangular cover on the left side from your POV) is 35mm thick, just like the rest of the frontal upper plate
- in Russian 0.8.5, Sexton I did not appear in the shop. The reason is that it's not balanced properly
- when bigger maps than the current ones are introduced, the teams will get bigger too (how much bigger is not yet decided, but more than 15 per side)
- it's possible there will be a new (separate, different) platoon search engine (SS: from rough description something like the WoW dungeon finder)
- the impact of repair skill on track repair time is not going to be changed from what it is now
- recent Malinovka re-work saw the windmill arms turning, this change will be implemented to other maps with windmills
- the devs have considered to reduce the amount of XP needed to train 4th and 5th crew skills, but decided not to do it
- Type 59 and WZ-120 are identical vehicles
- it's not yet known whether the decals will be re-worked so they on tanks after their destruction
- patch 0.9.0 is supposed to be something big, but it's secret for now
- there seems to be a new 0.8.5 low FPS issue (FPS drops 10-20 on some computers), it's unknown when (or whether) this will be solved
- new desert and winter maps will come
- according to Storm, developers do listen to both regular players and top known streamers, there are special people who collect the public opinions in the developer team
- Object 263 vertical gun range has not been improved
- T-70 on supertest recieved its historical crew number (2 instead of 3) - but the 2-man turret remained, it's completely possible that it will be replaced in future with another turret, such as Dedkov's cast turret.
- a platoon doesn't have any extra MM weight
- if two identical tanks have a platoon, their MM will be calculated according to the "older tank in the platoon".
- Jagdpanzer 38t "Hetzer Starr" is not planned for now (SS: this question was confusing, because the player claimed there was some sort of Hetzer with a "105mm launcher tube". I have no idea what that is, there was never such a project as far as I know, apart from the rigid-mounted 105mm L/28, which was the Starr mount AFAIK, perhaps the player was referring to PAW, but AFAIK there was no such project either, PAW went to 38d)
- it's possible the Hetzer in game will be renamed to Jagdpanzer 38t
- apparently extra consumable giving more power to diesel engines is not planned
- it's possible IS-4 will be renamed to (historically correct) IS-4M
- metal sheets on Ersatz Panther won't be implemented as spaced armor
- 2nd branch of Sovied medium tanks won't come this year
- 2nd branch of German TD's will come this year
- 2nd branch of French TD's will come eventually
- premium tanks of the same tier have the same moneymaking coefficient, regardless of their type (T5 premium med has the same coefficient as T5 premium TD for example)
- according to Storm, no tanks are designed primarily as gold ammo shooters
- Storm is very happy with Object 907 performance
- there are premium tier 8 medium tanks coming (SS: unclear, whether in 0.8.6 or later)
- until 0.8.6 is out, no additional arty nerf/limit is planned

- devs haven't thought yet about the "cloud storage" system á la BF3
- caps and keyboard language indicator will be implemented for the password screen
- it is not planned to change the French autoloaders so they can be reloaded only when the vehicle is standing still

23.4.2013
- it's possible some nations in game will have two arty branches
- 0.8.6 doesn't contain any core mechanics changes
- the long wait queues are recognized as a bug, it will be fixed
- more American branches this year? "no comment for now"
- statistics for company/CW's and randoms will be made separate (unclear as to how exactly will this deal with past stats)
- in 0.8.6, when an arty vehicle you already unlocked gets moved to a different tier, its replacement will be unlocked (but not purchased) also
- no smoothbore guns for World of Tanks (confirmed)
- binding your account to a certain IP is not planned
- during tournaments and in training rooms, shells will keep their costs (SS: a player suggested the shells in tournaments to be for free)
- there will be no free crew retrains in connection with T10 arty in 0.8.6
- apparently, the premium account buff is not actual anymore ("we don't have to do anything" and "there has been no official premium account buff announcement")
- no plans for extra rewards for players with a lot of battles played
- account security is being improved
- rebalanced Sexton I in 0.8.6? "it's possible"
- apparently no special initiative to improve player skill is planned by WG
- also, no special rewards for extremely good players are planned
- it is not considered to introduce team "captains" (players with very good winrate) into random battles' teams
- different rates of XP grind and credits grind are not considered a problem
- map-based vehicle restrictions (for example no more than three arties in Himmelsdorf) are not planned

24.4.2013
- in 8.6, Pearl River will not be removed for re-work
- in 8.6, new vehicles will be unlocked if you unlocked the same tier pre-8.6 vehicle, because "it's more fair like that"
- devs are considering the possibility to retrain the crew members to another role (SS: for example radioman into a loader)
- a whole page of Storm's answers was dedicated to moaning about the VK3001/3002 HL210TRM engine, apparently, there is some bug in RU client nomenclature
- LeFH18B2 MM spread was not changed in 0.8.5
- apparently, there were some problems with balancing the light tanks, so they decided to disable that MM part, so for now the scout MM is identical to the one pre 0.8.5
- apparently in distant future, lowtier vehicle battles will be implemented into the CW's somehow
- the visual model change of the T5E1 gun in the T123 and T136 T29 turrets is possibly historical (Storm is not sure)
- T18 model will not be changed apparently
- it's theoretically possible that in 0.8.6, new battletiers are introduced
- the missing WoT crew was one of the initial WoT decisions
- used shell casings flying off from the tanks are not planned
- M1921 won't be introduced into the game for now
- there might be rewards implemented for old players after all, "no comment for now"
- there might be new winter and desert newbie maps (such as Himmelsdorf, Malinovka etc.) introduced, but not anytime soon
- in 0.8.6, champion companees will get the possibility to include arty up to (and including) tier 8, but they probably won't get a tier point increase
- if a scout spots the enemy vehicle, arty aims at it, but the vehicle stops being spotted by the scout, the scout and the arty will share the kill XP, if the target is destroyed in 5 seconds from disappearing, after that the arty gets everything
- arty shells damage will change in 0.8.6 "if necessary"
- current maps might eventually get various seasons' versions (for example winter Steppes etc.)
- the bug where you can't close personal chat in garage was not fixed 0.8.5, nor is a micropatch planned to fix that bug specificall
- the Nvidia card bugs are still there (crashes etc.), the problem is "of system nature"
- this year more maps are planned for introduction
- it's possible clan management will get new options
- the fact Leopard Prototyp A is missing Leopard 1's engine is okay, the engine is supposed to be unique

25.4.2013
- the option to restore sold tank crews after you get your account back (if you become a victim of account theft/hacking) will be implemented relatively soon
- there will be a protection from accidental crew dismissal implemented, but not soon
- today's RU server minipatch doesn't cause 8.5 replays not to run (SS: not sure this concerns EU/NA)
- the possibility to load the autoloader with various shell composition (SS: for example 2 AP and 3 HE) will not be implemented
- the possibility for players to make maps won't be implemented: "To be original and interesting is not enough, they have to be worked-on. And to search amongst the thousands of "my school and house" map proposals for one decent proposal and to polish it for gameplay on top of that is much more expensive than to make the map ourselves"
- the M4A2E4 Sherman elevation/depression rollback in 0.8.5 (from 0.8.4 values back to 0.8.3) happened correctly: the depression was returned to the old one too (from -5 to -10), it was just forgotten in the patchnotes
- according to devs, Maus is doing fine statistically. It will be buffed just a bit (not significantly) and it won't happen too soon, the buff has low priority
- premium tier 8 vehicles won't come in first half of 2013, but in second they will
- Serene Coast and Komarin will return in 2nd half of 2013, they will both be changed a lot
- Sexton was moved to 8.6, because just like the rest of the arty it will be rebalanced
- all arty vehicles will be completely rebalanced in general

26.4.2013
Sorry, today it's just a bunch of trollstuff:

- Q: "Why are people with less than 1000 games played driving around in Object 907?" A: "I beg for forgiveness that we forgot to consult with you the criteria for distributing the test vehicles and the testing methods"
- when SerB is playing, he carries cca 10 golden shells with him and shoots them when needed, but Victor Kisliy is apparently shooting gold shells all the time: "He's not a poor man, he can afford it"
- Q: "Will you introduce account unification? I am asking because a friend of mine moved abroad and I use his account" A: "People ask for a long time about this option. That is people like account hackers, greedy players, who want to transfer tanks exclusive to newbies to their main account and people breaking the EULA, like you and your friend. What do you think, should we grant their request? "

As for that twat reviving the old Q&A thread on the EU forums, up to you, whether you want to read your news there or not, but that guy is one of the butthurt Czech trolls and one of the worst pieces of shit from CZ forums (and that's something already), and since I've been getting some "nice" Czech fanmail lately again, you can imagine what is the motivation behind the thread necromancy.

26.4.2013 part 2
Just a quick pre-midnight batch

- 88mm L/71 did not fire HEAT projectiles
- armored cars apparently won't appear
- Soviet D-25 gun won't get "historical" accuracy (SS: it was more accurate than it is depicted in the game)
- AMX ELC won't get a fully traversable turret
- player's won't apparently be "forced" to watch the training videos

27.4.2013
Very few info coming lately

- when fuel tank module HP drops to zero, they caught automatically on fire (SS: some player mentioned a case where they were "destroyed", yet nothing happened)
- the only thing that influences the drowning countdown is the height of the hull ("if I recall correctly") (SS: in other words, hermetically sealed tanks have no advantage when going into water)

A few things Overlord mentioned in his latest post:

- Overlord states that it's not clear what should be done to improve the quality of average gamers
- significant 8.6 general arty rebalance confirmed
- tier 9 and 10 profitability won't improve
- Overlord and other community people do realize the failure of EU Q&A in mind, Overlord stated:

"True that, people are not equal - they have different (cultural, family, etc) backgrounds and abilities so they can't be treated equally - that's why you shouldn't bash on Serb's style of communication for instance. Adding to that, we, as a developers (speaking only for devs here), have extremely limited resources in terms of communication. Yup, English, ofc can be covered - that wouldn't be a problem, but probably no more. And smth is usually better than anything. So, generally speaking, language treatment could be slightly different, e.g. basic set of languages would get standard support while English-speaking resources could provide smth more."
and

"Blunt RU->EN translation would probably do for starter, it wouldn't be a professional way of doing things. I admit there are issues with the current workflow. I'm still hoping for improvements that should follow after our San Francisco meeting back in March. There should be place for direct dev-player-dev communication."
- historical battles should contain PVE elements
- CW's are planned to be revamped to "involve more players" (SS: on RU server there is a talk of Clanwars being changed so huge clans and alliances are not dominating anymore)

If you feel like it, leave Overlord your feedback on 8.5, but please, be polite... thanks

27.4.2013 part 2
SerB's night session turned out to be quite a trollfest

- the main skill indicator will remain the winrate according to SerB, value of the player won't shift towards for example XP per battle or accuracy
- exact mechanism of teamkilling penalties won't be disclosed, so players don't invent was how to exploit it
- according to SerB, the base capture time is the same on all encounter mode maps (SS: according to several reports, there might be a bug, making the Prokhorovka encounter base capturable too fast), but this bug will be investigated... eventually
- the re-worked regular fire extinguisher will make the vehicle on fire "tick" a bit before engaging, modules will be damaged just like it is now
- historical battles won't contain top tier vehicles at first
- entire game style (mechanics) won't be fundamentally changed in the future
- the balance between T-44 and T-34-2 122mm guns is fine according to SerB (SS: the Chinese gun reloads cca 3 seconds faster)
- IS-7 won't get a "historical" ROF buff
- according to SerB, player proposals are considered, but players mostly propose crappy ideas
- drowned tanks are more expensive to repair, because drowning destroys all modules and those cost credits to repair too
- Q: "Will there be premium tanks with autoloaders?" A: "If needed. And we decide what is needed without players having to agree with us."
- Q: "Will Wargaming under SerB develop a walking mech game?" A: "If needed. And Viktor Kisliy decides what's needed."
- apparently, the T57 Heavy with gold rounds being overpowered is only a marginal issue ("What a horror...")
- Q: "Leopards at tier 9 and 10 suck" A: "Don't play Leopards"
- the delay between the base capture and end of battle won't be removed, it's there intentionally
- alternative medium branch for Americans, French and Soviets confirmed, "when it's done it's done"

28.4.2013
- apparently no special steps will be taken to increase the amount of less popular tanks, such as the Minimaus, Maus, FV4202 etc.
- when rebalancing tanks, the opinion of players is not taken into account
- SerB states that the counter-artillery hack doesn't really work
- ingame VK2801 is not related in any way to Daimler Benz
- Japanese tree: "when it's done it's done"
- the amount of free XP gained each battle automatically will not be increased
- Q: "Have the Spitfires been uncovered in Myanmar?" A: "No. Unfortunately the comrade who pulled us into that enterprise turned out to be no comrade at all."
- regarding the "digital" Chinese camouflage: for now there are no plans to introduce such a camouflage pattern for other nations
- the lowtier tank map limit doesn't apply to tank tiers, but rather battle tiers (SS: eg. M22 Locust can get to Westfield, as demonstrated by the asking Russian player)
- apparently, the Chinese will have a "Type 100" tank destroyer with either a 100mm or 122mm Chinese gun (SS: absolutely no idea what this is about, I have never seen such a tank mentioned anywhere, but SerB was recently on a meeting with players, maybe it's some reference from there, will ask the guy who asked the question in first place)
- it's possible there will be a second British medium branch implemented (what will be its tier 10 is unknown)
- "superpremium" accounts (that would give twice as big bonuses as regular accounts) are not planned, as to the other proposed PA buffs: "no comment for now"
- SerB states that there will be no more "pay to win" in the game, WG is focusing on selling comfortable levelling up, but it's just fine if you play for free
- SerB: "the option to change the account e-mail lowers the account's security level"
- according to SerB, the Indienpanzer frontal upper/lower armor meeting point is not bugged

29.4.2013
- 0.8.6 confirmed to come out in June 2013 (on RU server anyway)

- there is no difference between early (pre-war), wartime and post-war armor quality in game
- there will be some upcoming changes in mods (SS: related to the new artillery hack mod), "follow the news" (SS: one proposed solution was a "mod certification", without which the mod won't be accepted)
- the fact that when your game client crashes and your tank gets destroyed by leaving the battle even if the victory is certain (for example, last enemy tank just died) resulting in a loss/draw is fine according to devs
- US "Hunter" tank destroyer won't be implemented
- SerB regarding the players actually being able to make money while using exclusively tier 5 gold derp shells: "Good players have the right not to lose credits while shooting gold shells. And the bad players must either train harder or not use gold shells at all."
- if you dismissed some crews until now, you won't get them back even if the option to buy back the dismissed crews is introduced, because data about them are not being stored
- Q: "We want better quality models" A: "Want realism? Join the army."
- the next global update (SS: as big as for example the patch that introduced physics) will be 0.9.0
- no plans to introduce 100 percent crew training for credits
- if you experience lag when switching from arcade to sniper mode and vice versa, apparently your computer is at fault, there is no such bug in WoT
- it's possible that there will be some special company-level archivements ("awards") implemented in time
- devs do track the amount of various tanks sitting in player garages
- tier 10 Chinese vehicles are doing fine statistically
- Historical battles will come eventually. Hardcore mode: "Want hardcore? Join the army."
- maps bigger than 1x1 introduction is limited by the existence low-end player computers
- German M10 Panther will recieve the US Star as its emblem instead of the cross, it's planned

30.4.2013
Thanks to *anonymous guy* for showing me that livejournal.ru post - you guys should really sign so I know who to thank occasionally

So, I think we do know another part of what will come in 0.8.6: equipment rebalance. See further.

- so, the Russian (yet another) World of Tanks ripoff is getting sued by Wargaming for plagiarism (SS: TBH, quite rightfully so)
- the devs did think about limiting the maximum amount of gold ammo carried by a tank, but decided not to do it in the end
- T32 and M46 are considered balanced
- when setting the landscape on minimum settings, you might get glitches, such as shells flying into the ground because on higher setting, there is some terrain mold or something, which is invisible in lowest settings. The reason for it was that the developers discovered that on some very weak computers, players modified the ingame settings manually in game files to reach the same thing: a significant FPS increase. That's why it was implemented officially, despite the fact it can cause terrain bugs. Storm states that if this setting is too buggy for you (despite the fact Wargming fixed the worst bugs), move the landscape graphics setting up one point.
- an engine can catch fire on any damage (above some - small - threshold, f.x. lowtier machineguns and autocannons), it doesn't have to be yellow to catch fire

And now Storm's answers from the livejournal post:

- detailed armor scheme for each tank will eventually be implemented into the hangar
- breakable objects that cause vehicles to slow down a lot (fences, walls) will be fixed
- railways will be "sunk" into the ground so they don't limit tank movement in any way
- the base structure (SS: that crap in the middle of each base that blocks shells) won't be removed
- the mechanism for (AP/APCR) shells to actually punch thru soft cover (fences, etc.) instead of being eaten by it will be implemented in 0.8.6, but the covers itself will be fixed in separate patches (SS: eg. the mechanism will be only programmed, but not activated)
- spall liner will be re-made in 0.8.6 (it will be different for various tanks, it will absorb from 15 to 30 percent HE/ramming damage)
- there will be "other options" for those who fear arty (artyphobes)

Re: Rozwój WoT

1.5.2013
- according to WG data, Lorraine and Batchat did historically have a crew of 3, it won't be changed
- tank-to-tank matchmaker (SS: as in "one IS-7 can only be matched to another IS-7", eg mirror teams) won't be implemented
- the decal size and color change won't come anytime soon
- there will be no special servers without gold ammo implemented
- tank armor will be rebalanced "when necessery, opinion of players about it is not taken into account"
- all the Chinese guns implemented developed the end of the 70's are Soviet copies or developed based on Soviet originals. After that, the Chinese started copying the West. However, you can't read about this anywhere for now - Chinese development is rather secret.
- there is no special coefficient implemented into the game, that would somehow average the XP gain of good and bad players, such averaging is done by general vehicle balance
- Jagdpanther II gun/mantlet model is not bugged, it can be penetrated
- Chinese tank destroyers might come this year, depends on the Chinese research partners
- Chinese SU-100 copy might appear in their TD tree, again depends on the Chinese partners
- according to SerB, the machinegun miniturret on Jagdpanzer E-100 was ordered specifically by Hitler (SS: can't remember, but there was some crap around that... I think it was removed because it messed with loading in the end, not sure)
- the bottom of the T110E4 turret is very thin, 20mm or so
- apparently the Redshire map won't be taken down for re-work

Re: Rozwój WoT

2.5.2013
- female voices for WoT are not planned
- US tier 7 or 8 premium TD, Russian tier 6 premium arty? "If necessery"
- it's not realistic to expect retroactive medal awards
- Aufklärungspanzer Panther "will get a Mk.103 30mm cannon if the players who ask for it find a proof such a cannon was planned for it - really was planned, not just "could fit"", statistically it's fine according to SerB
- Batchat arty shell velocity was not nerfed
- apparently, Matilda BP was not changed lately (SS: some player complained about lower toughness of frontal armor)
- when a module is damaged - but not damaged enough to reach a yellow status, it is not repaired. Module autorepair activates only when the module is yellow (50 percent HP) and works until its HP reaches 50 percent.
- wet stowage module works by simply adding more HP to the ammorack module, that's why the ammorack module gets yellow later. Cyclone filter works on the same principle.
- apparently there is a bug on the new Pearl River map, some players experience nasty fps drops when playing it
- new ammo types (for example incendiary) are still planned, but works on them have not yet begun
- Q: "Will there be a tank heavier than 200 tons in game?" A: "Ratte won't be implemented"
- gas turbines won't be implemented (SS: damn, I really hoped for the GT101 at some point)
- woodgas engines (used by German for training tanks) and steam engines (allegedly there was a steam-powered KV) won't be implemented
- track module HP of T-62 was not increased in 0.8.5
- no info yet on the new tier 10 vehicles
- Q: "What about the difference between Russian and European gift shop offers?" A: "Envy is bad."
- if a player meets SerB in battle and teamdamages, blocks or swears at him, we will get banned
- removed speed governor consumable doesn't remove a fixed amount of hp per second, it removes a percentage of HP - eg. addind cyclonic filters doesn't make the engine turn yellow later according to SerB
- winter maps will come soon, more desert maps will come... not so soon
- sixth sense is not bugged, it lights up correctly, according to SerB cases where you get damaged when not lit up can be caused by blind fire
- physical shells (with mass) aren't planned, not even for rocket tanks like Sturmtiger
- SerB confirmed that players will be banned for the "modpack" (SS: the stuff I posted about earlier)
- in future, it will be possible for various server clusters (Americans, Europeans, Russians, SEA) to fight each other via a "roaming" system
- the Japanese superheavy (SS: tier 10) tank weights 140 tons
- the info about VK2002DB comes "from the Germans"
- "smooth ride" perk doesn't make shells fall near the center of the aim circle more often, the distribution is always the same

Re: Rozwój WoT

3.5.2013
Disclaimer: I kinda caught flu and Im not feeling well (that's why I was so irritated yesterday). Considering I am feeling like shit and am in bed atm, I can't guarantee the quality of the translations today. Should be okay, but don't crucify me if I forgot a word somewhere.

First: Alienware invite code giveaway (for new players only) can be found here - if any of you are starting a new account, it contains 1000g, 5 days premium and 100k credits. 8000 of them are left.

- the physics bugs (SS: flying tanks when clipping into certain objects, the infamous "turning on the spot") are considered very rare, fixing them has low priority
- if the client gets disconnected (shut down), extended results of the fight become inaccessible. This is intentional to save up on data transfer: "there is no point to transfer data when the client is shut down"
- IS-4 with D-25T is the historical tank setup, its historicity being about the only advantage this setup offers
- one of the big things the developers are working on right now are the esports functions
- when a tank is coming directly at you, it's possible to detrack it by shooting anywhere in the frontal track part, not just into the wheels
- the new prepared sound engine will bring improved sound overall
- WoT on consoles? "If there is ever such a thing, it'll be kept separate from PC WoT server-wise"
- according to SerB, the new tier 9 tanks (those with high penetration) are balanced fine and are historical
- the only Japanese tank already modelled is the Chinese Chi-Ha
- Japanese hightier tanks will be unique (not similiar to any other nations) (SS: from what I could tell, the heavies will be very large, heavy, less armored than Maus, but possibly better armed)
- in first Japanese patch, cca 19 tanks will be introduced
- SerB states that even on the same tank, when using removed speed governor, one vehicle can get its engine yellow in different times, because the removed speed governor damages the engine only when the engine works outside its nominal horsepower boundaries. It cannot be detected by player whether it's really working or not, this is intentional.
- Storm on armor: "Everything is almost okay with armor now. But in order to make it totally okay, we will be taking measures in 0.8.6. What measures - will tell later." (SS: bold font used by Storm himself)".
- Storm sees the problem with heavily armored tanks in their low popularity and limited playability.
- this year there will be new camos for Germans implemented
